A fine new vessel from Q-West.

Q-West Boat builders, located in Wanganui have delivered an Incat Crowther-designed catamaran to the Auckland ferry operator Fullers Group. The 34 by 9.5-meter commuter ferry will operate out of Aukland on a number of different routes. With seating for up to 338 passengers the ferry, named Te Jotuku’, can also carry some freight on her foredeck.

A pair of Cummins QSK38-M mains, developing 1400 HP each at 1800 RPM, turn 44.5-inch, five-blade propellers through ZF gearboxes powers the all aluminum vessel. This combination gives a cruising speed of 26 knots. With a molded depth of just over three meters, the ferry draws only 1.9-meters of water.

Seatig for over 300 passengers.
