On March 28, 2015 King County and Vashon Island dignitaries held a ceremony on Vashon Island to dedicate the newest ferry on the Vashon Island to Seattle route. The 104 by 32-foot catamaran ferry Sally Fox will carry 250 passengers with space for 26 bicycles on the aft deck. Primary users of scheduled operation of the new vessel will be Vashon Island residents on the commute between the two terminals.

Designed by Teknicraft of New Zealand ( ) and built by Bellingham, Washington-based All American Marine Inc. the aluminum vessel is certified USCG Subchapter K for Lakes, Bays and Sounds. A pair of Cummins QSK50-M Tier 3 main engines, each delivering 1800 HP at 1900 RPM to fixed pitch propellers, power the new vessel for a 28-knot service speed.

A second vessel, building to the same design, will be delivered later in 2015. The new vessels will replace two 27-year-old boats that have been chartered for the route since 2010.
